With the right treatment and support at the best drug and alcohol treatment centers, recovery from alcoholism is possible. A newly sober individual should not rush their recovery, because hurrying back to their lives too soon can lead to a relapse. During alcohol addiction recovery, alcohol detox and inpatient treatment are the first two phases of treatment, but recovery is not finished there. A successful alcohol addiction treatment program will also incorporate an outpatient treatment program for continued support and encouragement.
Outpatient Alcohol Treatment
Our outpatient alcohol treatment program, Discovery Transitions, has been designed to serve those who have already completed a residential treatment program and are either in one of our Circle of Hope transitional living homes or are capable of living on their own. An individual who has been sober for a while and is able to meet their daily responsibilities and live drug and alcohol-free are good candidates for this program. Residents in our Discovery Transitions outpatient alcohol treatment program meet regularly with our staff, participate in therapy sessions, and are closely monitored for their progress. Our goal with this program is to help participants continue to develop the skills necessary to remain sober, and to provide them with the support to avoid relapse.
Alcohol Outpatient Treatment
The most difficult part of recovery is often the transition back to the real world. It is at this time that stress can make the person want to drink again. Those who received a solid foundation in their therapy and alcohol outpatient treatment program will be better able to manage those triggers and stress. Plus, we have sober coaches that can work hand in hand with you to help you stay sober but also help you steer clear of negative behaviors and issues that may arise due to co-occurring disorders (gambling, sex, eating disorders), or other mental illnesses. Additionally, we provide our residents with advanced treatment options such as Neurofeedback. According to a UCLA study published in the American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, 77 percent of participants who receive neurofeedback in conjunction with a 12-Step program remain abstinent at 12 months compared to 44 percent of those who didn’t receive neurofeedback.
The Discovery House’s drug alcohol treatment center offers residents a complete continuum of care. We walk individuals through the entire recovery process, from the first phone call which includes our no-cost Treatment Assessment to our Discovery Transitions alcohol outpatient treatment and Circle of Hope transitional living and after care programs. We do not hurry individuals through treatment, but rather use regular assessments and evaluations to determine the level of care that will be best for the resident.
