The Discovery House was recently featured in Monsters and Critics, an online source of entertainment, arts, and lifestyle news and reviews. The article highlighted the importance of quality treatment programs for recovery, and described the benefits The Discovery House offers clients.
Among the features of The Discovery House that Monsters and Critics praised is the fact that our center “goes above and beyond what the State of California legally requires of rehab facilities,” and does it using evidence-based methods in a cozy residential setting.
Quality of care has always been important to The Discovery House, as Tom Whiting told Monsters and Critics: “It’s essential that clients feel that they are in good hands and that they are safe here. Our clients become our family, and they know we’re here to help them, not hurt. We aren’t an impersonal warehouse of a place that loses people in a crush of charts and files.”
Perhaps what Monsters and Critics liked the most was that The Discovery House doesn’t charge an outrageous amount of money for treatment. Article author April Neale compared prices at The Discovery House’s program with those at what she called “Rehab Riviera,” treatment centers that cater to celebrities. She found that The Discovery House offers higher quality, effective treatment for nearly a third of the cost.
